Transport and roads connect every part of our community — and they are central to the work Matt does in Parliament.
Shadow Assistant Minister for Transport and Roads
In his Inaugural Speech, Matt spoke of his passion for infrastructure — hoping to “be remembered as someone who helped to build infrastructure.” It is a passion he shares with his father Malcolm, a retired civil engineer who helped plan motorways including the M2 and M7.
Public Transport
Public transport is a critical piece of infrastructure that connects us all between home, work and leisure. Across the Davidson electorate this includes:
- Trains on the North Shore line at Roseville, Lindfield, Killara and Gordon stations, with planned lift-access upgrades at Killara
- Buses connecting residents to railway stations and the city across Belrose, Davidson, Frenchs Forest, St Ives, East Killara, East Lindfield and Roseville Chase
- Rideshare, taxis and active transport options
Roads
Roads are a key public-policy area, and across Davidson they fall into three categories:
- State roads: Pacific Highway, Ryde Road, Mona Vale Road, Boundary Street to Warringah Road (including Roseville Bridge), and Forest Way
- Regional roads: Bobbin Head Road, Burns Road to Archbold Road, Horace Street, Birdwood Road, Eastern Arterial Road, Koola Avenue, and Lady Game Drive
- Local roads: all other roads in the Davidson electorate
